edge of the world...

The first discipline of education must therefore be to refuse resolutely to feed the mind with canned chatter.
Aleister Crowley

countdown to v2.0

Excuse me while I spit over the edge of the world...
Welcome to a quick ride through what i laughingly call a mind - wipe your feet when you come in, and beware the clown in the corner with no pants on... he bites until bones snap.

Name meanings
Has posted 57 timesMy friend Louise did a search on my name and what it means at www.kalabarians.com, and came up with this:

Rob:

Your name Rob gives you a strong sense of responsibility in business and material affairs, and the practicality and determination to make a success of anything you undertake. Your ability to organize and direct the efforts of others enables you to excel in any managerial position because you have the ability to grasp the concept of a goal complete with an understanding of the steps to be taken. This name has allowed you to develop depth and breadth of mind.

You are able to retain facts, to grasp new information to your existing store of knowledge. You never seem to be out of your depth of understanding. For these reasons others who may not have the same quickness of mind classify you as a "know it all" and, although you may be highly respected, this characteristic is unlikely to endear you to your associates. You have a very responsible nature, are capable and mature, and are willing to assume a position as a pillar of the community.

You are quite healthy, but possible trouble areas are found in the generative organs.

Robert:

Your name of Robert gives you the desire to understand and help others with their problems but, at the same time, you can become too involved in their problems and, as a result, worry too much. This name creates a pleasant, easy-going, yet responsible nature. It gives you a natural ability to express affection to those close to you, without feelings of embarrassment.

You tend to avoid issues, however, and put off until tomorrow the things which should be done today. Accordingly, you would find difficulty in achieving success in positions requiring aggressiveness and drive. Also, you prefer to avoid strenuous work of a manual nature. Your natural inclination is to pursue a line of work where you have contact with people, where you carry some responsibility, and where you are engaged in mental rather than physical activity. You are diplomatic in your handling of people and always give others the benefit of the doubt. You appreciate good music and art. The health weaknesses created by this name affect the fluid functions.

2. Better to watch on TV: Movies or sports?- movies, unless it's football. not "soccer", football. because you actually hit the ball with your foot =p~~~
3. A better web browser: MSIE or Netscape (or tell us your own favorite!)- *finks*
umm, Netcaptor. I'm all about not having popups ^_^
4. A better way to travel: Automobile or bus/train?- hmmm... well, the bus is off the list, cuz it's REALLY not pleasant to be all crammed in there for hours... both the train and the car are really nice though, especially because I can't drive ^_^
5. Your preferred camera: Digital or film?- I'm torn... film cameras have a charm digital ones won't have for at least 50 years... but they're less practicall... so i supposed I'll pick... BOTH~!
6. A Cooler Vehicle: Motorcycle or sports car?- Motorcycle. not that i can drive it, but it looks super cool ^_^
7. More fun: Video games or board games?- video games in general... though it's nice to play board games every once in a while; i WUV monopoly ^_^

*giggles innocently*
9. A stinkier smell: Skunk or gasoline (petrol)?- skunks are cute (as was proven in Bambi), but I'm sure they stink a hell of a lot more than gas...
10. Thought-provoking question of the week: What is more important to you: making a ton of money and being at the top of your field, or finding your soulmate and living a comfortable but not wealthy life?- what's the point of having fame or money, if you're alone up there on your little cloud... I would much rather have a nice happy comfortable life wiv my sexy bish where we can watch each other get saggier and grumpier and still smooch like teenagers and have mad munkey sex ^_^
On that somewhat disturbing note, I'm off for a nap...

This or That (because Hey, it's Tuesday
Has posted 57 timesWhat Is...

1. Yummier: Chocolate ice cream or strawberry cheesecake?
Mmmmmmmm, cheesecake.... *drools*
2. Better to watch on TV: Movies or sports?
Hmmm if it's edited for TV movies on one of the shitty US Superstations, then sports (aka - English Soccer or Hockey or fake punching) wins. If you mean popping in a DVD and kicking back, then movies win.
3. A better web browser: MSIE or Netscape (or tell us your own favorite!)
Hmmm.... I use Netcaptor - it's the MSIE engine with a popup blocker and tab browsing built on.
4. A better way to travel: Automobile or bus/train?
well, I drive - but there's something to be said for someone else driving, being in a comfy seat and dozzing off and having a nap.
5. Your preferred camera: Digital or film?
I think Digital, though I don't have one.
6. A Cooler Vehicle: Motorcycle or sports car?
Motorcycle hands down.
7. More fun: Video games or board games?
Videogames, although Monopoly is fun fun fun.
8. Sexier: A perfect body or an intelligent mind?
always go with mind over body (though luckily my girlfriend has both ^_^ )
9. A stinkier smell: Skunk or gasoline (petrol)?
Have never smelled a skunk, but I imagine it smells worse then a can of gas.
10. Thought-provoking question of the week: What is more important to you: making a ton of money and being at the top of your field, or finding your soulmate and living a comfortable but not wealthy life?
Love and comfort and so so so so much more important then making a ton of money. what's a ton of money withut your soulmate to share it with?

Random finking...
Has posted 12 times Well, so many shitty things have been happening lately, i don't even know what to start whining about... I'll try and make it simple, as i tend to confuse myself sometimes trying to understand what's going on in my life these days...
First of all, depression's a bitch. makes you look ugly and sad all the time, go see annoying doctors who are constantly trying to poke inside your head, and to make things even more fun, if completely screws up your studying... So yeah, after I stopped going to classes and my grade point average dropped from a 3.98 to a 0.0, i figured it was my cue to take some time off... which is NOT as easy as it sounds.
Being what the U.S. immigration services lovingly call a "Non Resident Alien", taking some time off is a pain in my moroccan ass... after some pleading and a letter from the shrink, they allowed me a "grace" for the summer for medical reasons... My school isn't nearly as understanding T_T; they expect me to leave my room within 48 hours of the date of the medical leave. which means ummm... by tomorrow morning at 9 am, my room has to be empty, my keys returned and i have to find a place to stay. which i umm, don't have.
you understand why i'm whining now?
Thought you might...
To make this even better, add to the mix incredibly possesive parents, who are nonetheless completely oblivious of that somewhat handicapping (for me) flaw; and umm, try doing all that with NO money at all... I'm starting to wonder how I'll eat today... Not to mention no phone or internet to talk to Rob, which is by far what scares me the most; I'm not sure I can do this without him...
Heh, it's a happy life isn't it...
So yes I'm terrified of what might happen in the next month, and I like to think that my fear is somewhat justified...
Still, yesterday i thought of two little boys I saw once in Morocco. They were on a charriot going from house to house taking trash from people for a little money or food, they were no older than 9 and maybe 6 years old, and they were the cutest little boys I had ever seen. They stopped at a house, and the lady there gave them one pair of nice sneakers; they probably didn't fit her son anymore... they were the size of the older, 9 year old boy; still, he took one off, and gave it to his little brother; and of course it was too big for him, but he was so happy... they were both so happy to have one shoe each, one even too big to walk with... but they were still laughing and dancing around with one shoe on, and their torn clothes, and for them it was the best gift in the world... watching them broke my heart, and at the same time it taught me a lot...
First, I need to make a lot of money, spend almost none of it, and just send it all to children at home.
Second, buy them aaaall sneakers their size.
And third, I don't have the right to complain about my situation... i have a family that loves me, despite their strange ways of showing it, a boyfriend who loves me (even more than a big sammich!! big grin); I had the privilege to go to school and even to leave my country to learn more... So no matter how scared I am (and believe me I'm terrified), and how much I complain (and i do that quite a lot), a part of me reminds me of two little boys taking trash from people who were so happy for having a single shoe each...
I don't know what will happen, but heh, I'll find out soon enough, and whatever it is, I'm going to be grateful for what I have, because no matter how dark things seem, it's still an awful lot more than what millions of people have...
When all else fails, you still have love, and faith, and a whole bunch of pixistix ^_^ ...

Huzzah~!
Has posted 57 timesTime to babble me thinks.
Well, my ISP has been weird weird weird, and I still have bandwidth. yes, that is weird. I'm supose to get 7 gig's on high speed, and then the rest of the month is at a speed of 7kb/s. I'm still on mostly high speed and I've downloaded 19 and uploaded 7.5.
Ok, that is alot, but ummm... old episodes of macross are all like, big.
DON'T YOU JUDGE ME~!
*faints*
So yeah, I've been a bust insomniac net geek this month. 22 episodes of Robotech (huzzah for captial Gobol), and 7 movies (ok, over 8 cd's, cause gangs of New York is 2 cd's, whatEVER :p ), and i dunno how many comics.
Well, ok, i do have an a idea.
*finks*
OK, 75 issues of Sandman, and 45 of Starman, and both volumes of LXG, and ummm.... a bunch of preacher and hellblazer, and ummm.... maybe From Hell complete (500+ pages).
*Puts on his "I'm a geek" nametag*
well, other news.
Hmmm... thinking of it, when was the last time Moonya posted? 2 years ago. yeah, I think she should post on the stressfull drama we've been bouncing around in at some point.
Oh, for the sake of clarity - Moonya is my girlfriend, and I love her to lil tiny bits, and well, I wouldn't trade her for a really big sammich.
Right, other stuff.
Well, yesterday was turkey day, so i filled up on roast gobbler wif my parents, and got really full, and uttered those imortal words "Ohhhhh, I got some pain in da gut."
My dad didn't. :|
very weird.
I guess hes trying to get back in shape for the sumemr. he's a fisherman, and he's in the midst of that middle age thingy, so the winter belly isn't fleeing like it used to.
Oh, and I need a new bike. I am not amused.
Ok, I've babbled enough.
Gonna try and bable everyday again, if only for personal amusement.
So consider yourself warned.
*POOF*

Random rambling aboot bad porn
Has posted 57 timesAt the moment i can't sleep, and I'm listening to some music [Matthew Good - Avalanche -check it out, tis good big grin ], and have some porn playing in the background. Well, I have Playboy TV, and I'm taping a bunch of the midnight hardcore ones for a friend. I'm not really paying attention to whats going on, as I'm mainly keeping the station because it's fun to put on when the guys are over, not so muchbecause i need masturbation material.
That end is taken care of these days.
But anyhow, I'm typing away and there's a guy-guy-girl threesome going on in the movie, and the music is low enough that I can pick out the voice over whispering "I fucked your fathers". It goes on to say this like 5 or 6 times a minute for the length of a scene. Weird weird weird.
Would someone please explain to me how hearing "I fucked your fathers" 300 times in 8 minutes is helpful for getting off?
Of course, it's all trying to be artsy fartsy and story driven, which means i hold it in the lowest regard possible. I'm against stories in porno in general. If I want bad writing and acting i'll tape Passions while I'm at work.
*gets annoyed*
*changes the channel*
Ok, Drive In Classics has on "Kung Fu of Tai Qwan Do". I am so feeling the quality here smile
*geeks out*
OK, enough of that bibble babble, time for This or That~!
excited? Uh huh, knew you would be...

1. File taxes as early as possible, or wait until the last possible minute? - totally the last minute
2. File electronically, or mail paper forms? - paper forms, odd I know *shrugs*
3. Prepare your own taxes, or have someone do it for you? - family accountant
4. Are you a saver or a spender? - *blushes* ok, i'm a spender, whatEVER :p``````````
5. Do you prefer to carry cash, or pay with plastic (credit/debit cards), or by check? - Interac for preference, then cash, and never checks
6. You're broke and desperately need a job, but the only places that are hiring are retail or fast food places. Which would you pick? - Retail, as I think I'd go quite mad as a sammich artist or the like at this point in my life.
7. Keeping track of your money: are you more meticulous or careless about it? - I'm a pretty decent planner and tracker for my cash smile
8. What do you do if you find yourself with a lot of change weighing down your purse/pocket/wallet? Do you try to spend it to *get rid of it*, or do you put it in a jar or a piggy bank? - I spend it
9. Which form of fake money do you like better...Monopoly money or those chocolate coins covered with gold foil? - *finks* ummmm....... *eats alll da choclate money* *burps out the gold foil*
10. Thought-provoking question of the week: You find a wallet containing $5,000 in cash, as well as several credit cards and the owner's drivers' license. Your rent is due tomorrow and you're short $200. Do you take the money (some or all of it) and mail back the wallet anonymously...or do you return the wallet with all contents intact? - If the amount of money was smaller I'd return it intact, cash and all. However, anybody who loses their wallet wif 5 grand in it hasto pay the idiot tax, namely moi buying a 5.1 Dolby Digital sppeaker setup for my DVD player. *evil laff*
I never claimed to be overly moral, so :p
Ok, kids, later

Update
Has posted 57 timesWell, I took the quiz things off the front page because well, they were annoying me to deff.
And well, the lack of content is because I've been feeling shitty and grumpy,a nd I'm one of the three people who do not feel like using a weblog to vent about how their life is going.
I'll tryand get back on track soon enough though.
Word Life.
